Double Chocolate Cookie with Peanut Butter Filling Review

Tim Hortons recently unveiled its filled cookies and all hell broke loose. This additional to the menu was a shocker and a big step away from the “normal” cookie on the menu. In total, there are three to make your mouth water and your belly grow: Double Chocolate with Peanut Butter Filling, Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Filling, and the Lemon Shortbread with Raspberry Filling.

I’ve been holding off on buying the filled cookie as I’ve been enjoying the sugar-infused Dirt and Worms donut. Today, the Double Chocolate with Peanut Butter Filling was screaming my name and I caved.

First, I’m not the hugest fan of chocolate, peanut butter, or peanuts. However, there was something about this gem that wanted me to gobble it up. I ordered it and the Timmies employee took my $1.50.

The presentation is bang on. The dark brown colour of the round cookie is enticing. On the top there are scattered peanuts in the middle and the entire cookie takes up the palm of my hand — so the value you will receive is worth the money. The smell is spectacular. Even though the cookie was probably baked a couple our before me owning it, it smelled like it just came out of the oven.

Cracking the Double Chocolate with Peanut Butter filling cookie open was a good experience. The cookie is a soft and tender. Inside is where the love is. With a name like the “Double Chocolate with Peanut Butter Filling” you know you are getting a cookie with filling. A gentle amount of peanut butter was spread across the cookie.

Upon biting into the beauty I was pleasantly surprised. The chocolate is delicious and not overpowering, as is the peanut butter. It actually takes like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, or the recent Love to Reese’s Pieces donut. The actual peanuts somehow just fade into the cookie and disappear.

Overall, a good purchase that will certainly add a few pounds to your body.
