Hands-on with the Tim Hortons “special edition Grey Cup” cups

It’s always refreshing to have a bit of change from your ordinary day. Unfortunately the news we bring you today isn’t the glorious “Roll up The Rim” event, but a Canadian celebration nonetheless. This morning I waltzed into my local Tim’s and ordered up my usual beverages, but this time was presented with the “special edition Grey Cup-themed hot beverage cups.” Tim’s is working with the CFL and honouring their 100th Grey Cup by branding various items, specifically the Tim Card, a donut called the “football supreme,” and their coffee/tea cups.

The cup sports the CFL and Grey Cup logos. The most prominent change to the glorious cup is that it’s been redesigned to look like a football. Unfortunately it’s still made of cardboard and no sign of leather, nor even textured like a football… now that would be remarkable and really have worldwide press. Overall, same cup feel, but really makes you want to throw it at somebody, plus it’s packed with a bit more pride. The special edition cups will be available until Grey Cup Sunday on November 25th.

I'm obsessed with Tim Hortons. It runs through my veins and I've probably spent enough money downing Steeped Tea's that I could have purchased my own franchise.
