Tim Hortons is on a mission. First it was announcing that they will be ‘de-branding’ Cold Stone Creamery from Canadian restaurants. Then, unfortunately, it was revealed that 24 menu items are getting the boot.
During their Q4 and full-year 2013 conference call today, Marc Caira, President and CEO of Timmies, declared that “We also undertook some select menu rationalization, addressing items that are no longer optimal for our restaurants. In the fourth quarter, we delisted 24 items, which is significant progress in terms of our ongoing simplification efforts.”
While the full list is not known, you can be certain that the Mixed berry smoothie, Blueberry danish, Chocolate danish, Double berry muffin, Walnut Crunch doughnut, Timbit Dutchie and the 17 seasonal versions of the loveable Gingerbread Man cookies will be vanishing from their menu. These will be available at your local Tim Hortons until inventory is fully depleted.
The good news is that there’ll be new items coming and Timmies found success in 2013 with the Grilled Steak & Cheese Panini, Jalapeño Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich (Canada) and the Steak & Egg Breakfast Sandwich in the United States.
