Tim Hortons transforming Yonge and Dundas Square ‘to where it all began’ on May 15th, handing out free coffee and birthday cake donuts

The celebration is almost here. 50 years in the making and Tim’s is heading to the center of Toronto to ring in its half century milestone. In an email blast they invited the masses “to travel back to where it all began in true Throwback Thursday style!” The event will take place at Yonge and Dundas Square this coming Thursday and everyone will score a coffee and birthday cake donuts from 8 am – 3 pm.

No work on what they have planned, but the “travel back to where it all began” hints that they’ll have kiosks set up like old Tim Hortons. Hopefully there will be the swivel chairs.

If the free coffee and donuts are not enough to get you out, Timmies is promising “the chance to see a Canadian music phenomenon and a few other very special guests.” Please don’t be Celine, Brian Adams, Bieber, RUSH or Nickelback.

Perhaps Ron Joyce will be partaking in the festivities. Tim Hortons will also be handing out free birthday cake donuts on May 17th (it’s actual birthday).

I'm obsessed with Tim Hortons. It runs through my veins and I've probably spent enough money downing Steeped Tea's that I could have purchased my own franchise.
