Tim Hortons is addictive and apparently the company has a strong “brand value” in Canada.
Interbrand, who is one of the “world’s leading brand consultancy,” has unleashed a big report that shows 25 Canadian companies and their brand value. This is based on public perception, financial status, and that they in fact operate in Canada.
TD Bank has the best brand value at $11 billion, but leading the ‘retail’ category is Tim Hortons with a respectable 5th spot, up one spot from 2012. Timmies has a “brand value” of $3.899 billion and one of the reasons for the Oakville-based company to be included in the list was because they dominate the Canadian market. Interbrand noted that “27% of all money handed over to quick service restaurants (QSR) in Canada is spent at Tim Hortons and 42% share of all traffic into QSRs walk into one of 3,588 Tim Hortons outlets.”
The only other mention close to Tim Hortons was Molson in the “beverage” category. McDonald’s was missing, as was Second Cup and Starbucks Canada.
