Love Reese’s to Pieces donut wins the Tim Hortons Duelling Donut competition!

If you’re a fan of chocolate and peanuts then you’ll love to hear that the winner crowned in the 2014 Tim Hortons Duelling Donuts competition is the Love Reese’s to Pieces donut.

This masterpiece was created by Jennifer Brown of Glencoe, ON and dominated the contest by owning 47% of total contest votes — which we believe was well over 6,000 total votes. Coming in 2nd place was the Ice Cream Sundae, followed by bacon-inspired Lumberjack, and finally the Big Canadian Red.

Celebrity judge Jason Priestley, said, “Congratulations to Jennifer for taking the crown in Tim Hortons Duelling Donuts contest. I saw firsthand Jennifer’s passion for her donut, and with that irresistible combination of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and crème brûlée, I know Canadians made the right decision.”

The Love REESE’S To Pieces is a chocolate yeast donut that has a creme brulee filling, chocolate and white, topped with peanuts and a generous amount of Reese Peanut Butter Cups. Certainly a stellar combination.

This year saw a total of 76,500 donut creations, but in the end the Love REESE’S To Pieces took home the prize of $10,000 and the honour of having it on the menu, which is scheduled to appear “in the coming months.”

I'm obsessed with Tim Hortons. It runs through my veins and I've probably spent enough money downing Steeped Tea's that I could have purchased my own franchise.
