Tim Horton gets honoured by Canada Post in ‘Original Six Defencemen series’ stamp

Tim Hortons in all his Toronto Maple Leaf glory has once again graced a stamp issued by Canada Post. A new series that is a “quintessentially Canadian line-up” that honours the legendary Original Six Defencemen: Bobby Orr (Boston Bruins), Tim Horton (Toronto Maple Leafs), Pierre Pilote (Chicago Blackhawks), Red Kelly (Detroit Red Wings), Doug Harvey (Montreal Canadiens), and Harry Howell (New York Rangers).

The series was designed by Avi Dunkelman and Joe Gault and features an image of the player in uniform, and the jersey numbers in the background.

“Hockey is Canada’s passion,” says Canada Post President and CEO Deepak Chopra. “The legendary players we’ve immortalized on these stamps capture part of this country’s hockey story. These men inspired a generation, and their brilliance filled a nation with pride and joy. More than a few NHL players were born of the dreams instilled in them as boys by these stars.”

I'm obsessed with Tim Hortons. It runs through my veins and I've probably spent enough money downing Steeped Tea's that I could have purchased my own franchise.
