Tim Hortons unveils new spill-resistant, 100% recyclable lids

The dream is very much alive.

Tim Hortons, which is the greatest place on Earth, has unveiled its new 100% recyclable beverage lids today.

The company has once again honoured its birthplace Canada with a specially-designed lid that showcases the maple leaf.

Timmies says the new lids feature “coffee cup technology” and will reduce leaks and spills. These new lids have been in testing since August and will expand to the United States and other countries soon.

This is just one of the efforts the company is tackling. Last year, Greenpeace Canada pinpointed Tim Hortons as one of Canada’s top plastics polluters.

In the coming months, Tim Hortons announced it is testing more environmentally-friendly paper cups, testing strawless lids for iced coffee cups and wooden stir sticks.
